Reveal, founded by Johan Hoernell and Phillip Allan, is transforming enterprise enablement with an AI-powered platform designed to turn enablement into a competitive advantage. The platform personalizes and delivers up-to-date content directly to users, enabling faster software adoption without the high cost of traditional training. With deep expertise from their previous roles at McKinsey and BCG, Johan and Phillip set out to revolutionize how companies onboard and engage users on new software platforms.
A previously successful tech entrepreneur and former McKinsey consultant, Johan saw an opportunity. In late 2023, he began iterating on the idea with Phillip - a colleague with deep expertise solving user enablement challenges at BCG. They conceived and created an enablement platform prototype and MVP using the GenAI application framework Langchain. The product was quickly validated by enterprises looking to boost the return on their technology investments. With that, a new company was born which they decided to name Reveal.
While pleased that customers were embracing Reveal’s product, iterating and scaling its AI features proved challenging. The effort required to keep the platform current as models, backend tools and infrastructure requirements evolved at a manic pace meant that delivering Reveal’s long list of AI-powered features and capabilities weren’t making it into the product as quickly as Johan - and Reveal’s customers - wanted. This left Johan and Phillip searching for a way to accelerate Reveal’s development and reduce technical overhead while also ensuring the high-availability and exceptional performance their enterprise customers were looking for.
During the SaaStr annual software conference, Johan and Phillip met Chuck Whiteman, co-founder of Lamatic.ai, over lunch. As they listened to Chuck talk about Lamatic’s solution, they were intrigued. If it worked as he described, it would eliminate a ton of tech debt and allow Reveal to better focus on delivering the features customers were requesting. Not only that, the Lamatic solution appeared to offer faster performance, greater flexibility, lower maintenance costs and a much higher degree of certainty that Reveal’s AI features were working as expected 24x7. This possibility piqued Johan and Phillip’s interest and they decided to test Lamatic out by sharing one of Reveal’s tough GenAI use cases.
Within a week and a half, Lamatic returned the use case—solved. Johan tested three more complex use cases, all of which Lamatic supported easily. Impressed by how Lamatic’s managed solution would allow them to focus on the things customers were requesting, Johan and Phillip decided to fully replatform Reveal’s AI components onto Lamatic.ai. The results were nothing short of transformational.
For a tech company like Reveal, this replatforming has been a game-changer. The reduced technical debt and faster time-to-market for new features have allowed Johan and Phillip to focus on scaling the business and delivering exceptional value to customers. The move to Lamatic.ai not only enabled Reveal to solve immediate technical challenges, but it also positioned them for long-term success in the competitive enterprise enablement market.
